On Twilo and Twinning....
Posted by Eric Fajardo on
Twilo is a children's clothing brand established in 2003.
In 2003 Twilight (the novel was not yet published by Stephanie Meyer) and twinning fashion was not yet the trend. These were not the inspiration. Twilo our brand was established as a compliment to our Purple Candy line which is known for childrens' party dresses. A lot of your now grown girls celebrated their momentous events wearing Purple Candy. Twilo complimented this formal line with casual dresses that were trend inspired and not the sweetie sweet, classic designs that was of the norm. This is how the brand Twilo was coined, it was to be in the twilight of children's fashion, dictated by trends and yet inspired by the classic design (in the middle ground).
As Twilo designs were trend inspired and had a more or less complete size line, mothers started trying and eventually buying. Slowly, it became apparent that mothers and daughters were both wearing Twilo and this at the time when the term twinning in fashion was just evolving. Twinning as it known in fashion today was coined by millenials. It only started becoming a universally accepted mode of fashion when supermodels Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid posted their twinning photos.
Twinning is hilghly suggested, but any one who likes our designs may buy. This is why most often our pricing reflects items per piece and not as a pair. Again, any one can buy Twilo.
Twilo supports twinning to help mothers and daughters bond. But, it was you our customers, that made this apparent. We we were just selling clothes and you made this happen. Because of this we are adopted this in our design philosophy. You helped us evolve.
Twinning can be for bae and me, best friends forever, sisters, soulmates, and just any matchy matchy you can think about.
Happy Twilo Twinning!
